Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline

A helicopter flying near a crowded southern California coastline abruptly started spinning wildly, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm fronds as spectators looked on.

Footage posted on the internet capture the helicopter starting to spin above the shoreline then plunging in the direction of the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a staircase close to the shoreline route.

First Aid Information

Emergency responders said five individuals were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the crash on Saturday.

Three people on the pavement were harmed. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.

What led to the incident was still under investigation.
