Flight operations have resumed at Edinburgh Airport after a major air traffic control outage brought the international hub to a standstill.
All incoming and outgoing flights were stopped because of an technical fault that arose around 08:30.
Some passengers found themselves stranded in aircraft on the tarmac as the outage continued.
Officials announced at 10:40 that flights had resumed, and thanked passengers for their "cooperation and patience".
Nonetheless, considerable delays are expected to persist for some time. Flights to key destinations like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Bristol have been cancelled, with a host of additional flights subject to postponements.
Officials had initially projected that 27 departures and 11 arrivals could be impacted.
"Flyers are asked to get in touch with their carrier for the most up-to-date details on their specific flights," officials reiterated.
The airport attributed the operational halt to an IT issue with its ATC service provider.
Flyers should still plan to verify the schedule of their trip before departing to the hub as residual delays are managed.
