Overwhelmed HK Inhabitants Stunned as Large-Scale Inferno Ravages Apartment Complexes

University student a local student was among the many individuals drawn to the location of a tragic blaze that engulfed large portions of the eight-block residential estate in the city's Tai Po area.

At least thirty-six residents have lost their lives in Wednesday's catastrophic blaze to date, with many still unaccounted for, suggesting that this number will likely grow.

"It's a disaster," the student stated about the fire, mentioning that he had witnessed a body being removed from the location.

Over a thousand additional people were forced to evacuate the estate as the blaze advanced, with several heading to emergency shelters that have been established to house them.

The blaze is progressively being controlled, but authorities indicate they cannot determine when it will be entirely extinguished.

Flames could be seen coming from specific apartments as many residents watched in quiet.

"I am heartbroken. The building contains so countless neighbors and community members. I have no idea what is going on anymore. See, all the apartments are just ablaze. I do not know what to do. I pray the local administration can support us to find stability after this."

An local woman explained that her friends dwell inside the structure and she was waiting to discover if they managed to get out.

An elderly inhabitant, who has lived in building number two of the residential estate for more than forty annums, mentioned hearing "a tremendous explosion" and seeing fire erupt in a nearby structure.

"I promptly went back to pack up my belongings," the 66-year-old inhabitant remarked.

"I cannot comprehend how I emotionally at this moment. I'm just thinking about where I'm going to rest tonight because I likely will not go back home."

During interviews about their feelings regarding the tragedy, inhabitants stated that "authorities is unprepared" and that they were "extremely heartbroken".

"We don't want to see any further fatalities," commented one.

An older lady who resides in an apartment in the impacted blocks stated she was away when the blaze broke out but that she is anxious about her apartment because it is not insured.

"I'm extremely upset that I have nowhere to inhabit now," she concluded.
